Piana Rotaliana
This area was frequently flooded before barriers were built in the middle of the 19th century to shore up the Noce River and thus allow the large flood plain to be fully reclaimed. Mezzolombardo is one of the main towns.

The sheer rock walls all around form a triangle to protect this natural “garden” from cold winds, making it the perfect place to grow vines and apples.

The soil which derives from glacial deposits is rich in slate and gravel and enhances the intense flavour of the areas’s produce.
